About Me

I created Merry Stitches in 1994.  I had been working for Congress for a number of years and needed a creative outlet.  I started sewing with my mother as a young girl in the Midwest and went back to sewing while working on the Hill.  I started my business part-time selling one item at small local craft shows and grew my product line each year.  I eventually left Capitol Hill to pursue Merry Stitches full-time.  I now sell at shops and art and craft shows.

I am so lucky to be able to create, sew and share with others.  I love picking out the fabrics for my products and coming up with items that you can use everyday at home, carry in your handbag or give as gifts.  I love most of all interacting with my customers.  I have met so many wonderful people over the years and cherish the friendships.  

I am a juried member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild.  I sell at various art and craft shows in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.    

I live in Northern Virginia with my husband, son, cat and a fish.

About My Products

All Merry Stitches products are handmade out of top-quality fabrics and materials. I create gifts, accessories, and housewares that are available in an array of beautifully patterned fabrics.
